Domestic Church 2023 Family Retreat KC Options
We are asking for your input as we make some important decisions about our 2023 family retreat offerings. Please consider carefully what options would best accommodate your family, and share your thoughts with us in the comments space on the form below. Time is of the essence, so we encourage you to submit your input form no later than Sunday, February 19th.

Option 1: Lake Doniphan Retreat Center- August 9-13, 2023

Arrival on Wednesday afternoon and departure on Sunday after breakfast
- Located 30 minutes from downtown KC just outside of Excelsior Springs
- Offers hotel-style accommodations, with two queen beds and a private bathroom for most of their room configurations. Some options for adjoining rooms exist.
- All food is handled by retreat center staff and is included in the price of lodging.
- This facility would provide us with the opportunity to offer a separate retreat format for our teen participants, and they would sleep in separate lodging from families.
- Swimming sessions at the zero-entry pool would be included, as well as a variety of games such as disc golf, basketball, pickleball, gagaball, horseshoes, volleyball, human foosball, etc. Fishing is also available.
- Families can choose to participate in kayaking, paddleboating, canoeing, hayrides, and archery for an additional fee.
Approximated total cost for an average family of 6: $2450
Option 2: Prairie Star Ranch- Labor Day Weekend, September 1-4, 2023

Arrival on Friday afternoon and departure Monday mid-afternoon
- Located one hour from Kansas City in Williamsburg, KS
- Offers bunk-style accommodations, with community bathrooms on each level of the houses.
- All food is handled by DC volunteers, reducing the cost of the retreat significantly.
- One 2-hour swimming session at the beach with access to the Wet Willie Waterslide would be included, as well as gagaball and fishing. Families are encouraged to bring yard games to share.
- Teens would serve as volunteers for this retreat during the main programming times.
- Included in the cost of this retreat would be special activities for the children's programming (ages 5 and up) to include horseback riding and high or low ropes course activities.
- Families can choose to participate in kayaking/canoeing, and archery for an additional fee.
